American Missionary Fellowship Website — http://amfmission.org
Started in 1817, American Missionary Fellowship is the county’s oldest missionary organization. AMF is driven by a passion for people and a calling to reach the country in urban and rural settings with the love of Jesus Christ. Every year, well over 100,000 people are influenced by AMF missionaries toward faith and growth in Christ.
AMF helps 4,000 to 5,000 people of all ages annually become Christ-followers through their church-planting efforts, Christian camping ministries, ethnic ministries, children’s ministries, and additional outreach ministries. Not only do they have a passion for people, but American Missionary Fellowship is driven by passionate people who truly care.
Breaking it down
In addition to redesigning the site, we wanted to build a place where the missionaries and volunteers working with AMF from around the country would have an online community to call their own. For this, we chose to customize Expression Engine and it’s Forums module to meet the needs of creating not only a public informational site but also a private member area.
With a site that is content driven, it is important that the design take a backseat to the focus and message of the organization. That is why every design element, including the color palette, was chosen with care and purpose.
Working with the folks from AMF was a genuine pleasure, and we consider them part of the Honu Studios ’ohana.
